Visiting Policies
For our patients' well-being, visiting hours have been scheduled to allow family and friends to spend time with our patients without interfering with their medical care. In the interest of the patient's comfort, the number of visitors should be limited to no more than two guests at a time.
Guests need to obtain a pass at the Security Desk of the building in which the patient is staying. All visitors must show a valid photo identification (e.g., driver's license, passport) before they will be issued a pass to the patient care area.
Before visiting someone in a Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU), please check with his/her nurse because the SIC U may have special guidelines for visitors.
Children under 14 years of age are permitted under the following conditions: they must be escorted by a responsible adult, all immunizations must be up to date, and your nurse must first clear them to reduce any risk of exposing you to a communicable disease.
Gifts
Gifts can do a lot to cheer up a patient. Flowers, stuffed animals, books and games are terrific items to give a patient. For safety reasons, balloons are prohibited.
Please note that flowers are not permitted in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit.
