Fellowship Information

The Endocrine and Metabolic Surgery Fellowship at Weill Cornell Medicine aims to prepare surgeons for a career in academic endocrine surgery through a combination of expert clinical care and exposure to basic and clinical research. Fellows should graduate with competence in endocrine and metabolic surgery.

The fellowship aims to provide a broad experience in endocrine and metabolic surgery. Rotations will include time on endocrine surgery, minimally invasive and bariatric/metabolic surgery and surgical oncology. Current case volumes include over 350 thyroidectomies, 200 parathyroidectomies, 50 adrenalectomies, 50 pancreatectomies and 250 bariatric/GI metabolic procedures per year. There are active laboratory and clinical projects in all facets of endocrine surgery, as well as metabolic/bariatric surgery. Exposure to endocrinology and nuclear medicine will be integrated into the fellowship.

Applying for the Fellowship

In addition to traditional interviews, the Endocrine Surgery Fellowship at NewYork-Presbyterian, Weill Cornell Medicine will be accepting all applications to meet with the program faculty in person at the AAES 2017 Conference on Sunday, April 4, 2017 from 8:00am - 11:00am. Traditional interview dates will be announced via EndocrineSurgery.org and invitations to the interview dates will be distributed via email.
